About the Role
We are seeking an educator who is deeply passionate about teaching entrepreneurship and who thrives in highly experiential, founder-focused learning environments. Experience in other leading global ecosystems (e.g., Silicon Valley, Berlin, Singapore, Tel Aviv, London, Shenzhen, or similar) is a significant asset.

Teaching & Service Expectations

  • Teach up to six one-term courses per year across undergraduate and graduate levels (distributed over three academic terms), depending on service responsibilities and other assigned duties. Design and deliver highly experiential, practice-oriented venture creation content
  • Coach and mentor student founders and venture teams
  • Support pitch competitions, venture labs, and ecosystem-engaged programming
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across UW’s entrepreneurial ecosystem
  • Contribute to student experience through events, workshops, and community-building initiatives
  • Participate in service activities as assigned by the Director of the Conrad School

Our school has a culture of regularly working on-site and availability for student coaching is expected. The role is hands-on, collaborative, and aligned with Conrad’s dynamic, proactive, and student-centred culture.

Qualifications
Eligible candidates should have:

  • A graduate degree (Master’s required; PhD preferred) in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching experiential entrepreneurship courses or equivalent professional teaching/training experience
  • Meaningful real-world entrepreneurial experience (as founder, early employee, mentor, accelerator lead, or investor); experience beyond academia is highly valued
  • A strong record of coaching, mentoring, or supporting ideation to early-stage founders
  • The ability to work effectively with technically oriented students (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.)
  • Experience designing or delivering programs in new venture creation, startup incubation, accelerators, or entrepreneurial ecosystems
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to contributing to Conrad’s positive, can-do culture

Formal training in pedagogy or entrepreneurship education is an asset.

Salary Range
The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and track record.

We seek individuals who have demonstrated a passion for teaching and coaching students, as well as an entrepreneurial drive and strong organizational abilities. Administrative and service duties are expected to principally involve coaching undergraduate student entrepreneurs, organizing and hosting related events to enhance the student experience and Conrad’s profile, and more generally participating in the facilitation of the student entrepreneurship community at UW. Teaching tasks will be assigned in all three academic terms. Working on-site and being available to students most work days is expected. An entrepreneurial outlook and interest in active engagement with colleagues and students in the growth and life of Conrad are essential.
