The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in the Faculty of Engineering invites applications for multiple positions (Full/Associate/Assistant Professor), preferably with a specialty in Biomedical Engineering.
Biomedical Engineering upholds the concept of interdisciplinary development, aiming to tackle key challenges in the biomedical field and meet the needs of clinical and health industries. The department provides professional support for advancing medical diagnosis and treatment standards in Macao and the Greater Bay Area, and for promoting the biomedical industry toward high-quality development. With a team of 13 full-time academic staff of diverse research backgrounds, the department is now launching a new Intelligent Medical Engineering programme, to support healthcare development in Macao and the Greater Bay Area, particularly in advancing “BIG Health” and Translational Precision Medicine. We seek exceptional candidates for the program with expertise in (but not limited to) AI in medicine, biomedical electronics, medical robotics, sensors, instrumentation, brain-computer interface, intra-body communications, and medical imaging. Qualifications
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering, or related areas. Preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching experience at the tertiary education level.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in December 2026 and the positions will be open until filled.
Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
