We now have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Future Student Contact Officer (Domestic) to join our team. You will play a vital role in connecting with prospective students and supporting them on their journey to study at JCU. You’ll use a range of communication methods: including phone calls, emails, SMS and chats to engage and guide future students.
- Full time, continuing position
- Located at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas
- HEWL 4: $70,755 - $75,162 per year plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, and a 2.75% pay rise from December 2025.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position supports the Domestic Admissions team by delivering lead management services and conversion strategies to prospective students, contributing directly to the achievement of JCU’s enrolment targets. As a key point of contact for prospective domestic students, you will provide outstanding customer service, ensuring all interactions are professional, efficient, culturally sensitive and aligned with JCU's policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and compliant record-keeping to support data integrity and informed decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or certificate qualifications related to the role or a combination of relevant education/training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in a sales, student recruitment, customer service or contact centre environment utilising consultative and solution sales techniques.
- Proven customer service skills in managing high numbers of inquiries, providing information and advice, exercising confidentiality and discretion with complex matters.
- Informed organisational problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise judgement to manage own workflow and prioritise to ensure deadlines and targets are met in a high-volume work environment.
- Effective computer and data entry skills using the Microsoft Office suite and ability to adapt to the use of new software packages with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills in dealing with people from a variety of backgrounds both internal and external to the organisation.
- Sound knowledge of University student policies, procedures or protocols and the tertiary entrance application process (desirable).

- It is a requirement of this position to participate in operational activity outside of the recognised normal span of hours
