Overview

Depending on the subject of your dissertation, at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) you will complete either a doctoral programme in engineering sciences or a doctoral programme in Geosciences.

Features

As you are part of the scientific community at the doctoral school, you have the opportunity to talk to teachers, researchers and other students about your progress and results at interdisciplinary seminars and workshops.
In addition, your supervisor will support you in writing your dissertation by providing both their expertise and contacts in the focus area.

Tectonics and structural geology
Geodynamics and geochemistry
Mineralogy and petrology
Geobiology and palaeoecology
Actuopalaeoecology, palaeobiogeography and stratigraphy

Other requirements

General requirements

completion of a subject-related diploma or master's programme in engineering sciences or natural sciences at a university or
completion of another degree programme at a recognised Austrian or foreign post-secondary educational institution that is equivalent to the aforementioned degree programmes or
completion of a degree programme at a recognised Austrian or foreign post-secondary educational institution in combination with supplementary curricular requirements or
only in exceptional cases under very restrictive conditions: completion of a subject-related bachelor's programme.

Tuition Fees

International: 2,340 AUD / year (approx. 1,452 EUR / year)
EU/EEA: 1,170 AUD / year (approx. 726 EUR / year)

Living costs

Graz, Austria: 1,364–1,920 AUD / month. The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
