Overview
This Geotechnical Engineering programme offered by Lund University focuses on the mechanical behaviour of soil, rock, and granular materials, supporting research into their stress–strain relationships, composition, and response to loads and environmental conditions. It enables investigation of geotechnical applications such as foundation design, soil stabilisation, support structures, and ground–structure interaction.
Key Facts
The academic environment combines experimental, analytical, and numerical approaches, with strong emphasis on modelling and simulation techniques. Training includes coursework, supervision, and independent research, enabling the ability to analyse geotechnical systems, develop calculation methods, and apply advanced modelling tools in construction and infrastructure projects.
