Gift Accounting Supervisor
Job Summary
Auburn Advancement is excited to begin the search for a Gift Accounting Supervisor! The Supervisor of Gift Accounting ensures the accurate and timely recording of all charitable gifts and donor data for Auburn University Advancement. This role leads the gift accounting team and maintains compliance with university, industry, and IRS standards.
What You'll Do:
Evaluate and Innovate: Maintains expert knowledge of gift accounting standards, ensures donor intent is accurately recorded, and drives process improvements through automation and data integration.
Optimize Operations: Oversees staff to process contributions accurately and on time, manages reconciliations and approvals, and ensures reliable data entry, compliance, and confidentiality.
Facilitate Fundraising Initiatives: Collaborates with finance, IT, and fundraising teams to streamline agreements and coding, keeps donor records current, and supports reporting for compliance and audits.
Champion Philanthropy: Ensures contributions are properly credited, supervises acknowledgment processes, and upholds stewardship standards that strengthen donor trust and encourage continued giving.

Essential Functions
Your Responsibilities as a Gift Accounting Supervisor:
Purpose: The Supervisor of Gift Accounting ensures that all gifts, pledges, and donor information are accurately recorded to maintain a comprehensive and reliable database for Auburn University Advancement. This includes interpreting donor intent, applying industry and university standards, and upholding policies and confidentiality in all gift accounting practices.
Collaborate: Works closely with staff across Advancement, including finance, IT, and fundraising teams, to standardize and streamline gift agreements, allocations, and coding, ensuring consistency and accuracy across systems. Supervises team members responsible for processing contributions and supports cross-functional communication for reporting and compliance.
Innovation: Enhances business processes by implementing automation and improving data integration across fundraising systems. Maximizes CRM and database tools to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and expedite gift processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
Production: Leads the accurate, timely processing and reconciliation of all charitable contributions from multiple sources, ensuring receipts and records are up to date. Maintains high-quality data entry and batch reconciliation, supporting comprehensive reporting, audits, and compliance with CASE and IRS standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Communications, or relevant field
- 5 years of experience in data management, data analysis, financial support services, business operations, and/or administrative/clerical.
Salary Range: $49,680-$84,450
