Graduate Admission Counselor
The Graduate Admissions Counselor is a professional, detail-oriented, and highly service-oriented individual responsible for growing enrollment in Chatham University’s highly competitive graduate health science programs. This position manages all recruitment activities for assigned degree programs, including yearly planning, application review, prospective student engagement, faculty collaboration, and relationship-building with partner institutions. This position reports to the Vice President of Enrollment Management or the Director of Graduate Admission.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Graduate Admission in developing and managing a yearly recruitment plan to increase program awareness, inquiries, and enrollment.
- Advise and support prospective students throughout the admissions process, including application review, interview coordination, and ongoing communication via phone, email, and in-person visits.
- Read applications and manage prerequisite and application requirements for assigned academic programs.
- Plan and execute on- and off-campus recruitment events, virtual and in-person interview days, and travel to feeder schools, employers, and conferences.
- Prepare and deliver professional information sessions about graduate programs in various formats (on-campus, off-campus, virtual).
- Collaborate with the university marketing department to develop communication materials promoting degree programs and services.
- Recruit students for designated on-ground graduate programs.
- Provide regular reports on recruitment status and enrollment progress for assigned programs.
- Conduct Admission and Financial Aid presentations in collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid.
- Develop and maintain relationships with articulation school partners to support student engagement.
- Work with graduate academic Program Directors to coordinate and promote graduate policies and ensure enrollment goals are met.
- Support the planning and execution of yield-related events and programming.
- Uphold high standards for a nationally accredited, competitive program.
- Provide occasional functional supervision of graduate student workers.
- Requires a valid driver’s license; includes daytime and some overnight travel, as well as occasional evening and weekend work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven results-driven approach to sales, recruitment, and/or admissions.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with graduate health science populations preferred.
- Experience managing applications through a CAS system preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn proprietary educational software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Comfortable speaking before large and small groups.
- Valid driver’s license required.

- Strong time management, project management, and public speaking skills.
- Background in sales and a proven ability to meet enrollment goals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Slate CRM is a plus.
- Creative, energetic, and self-motivated team player.
Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
- Requires daytime and some overnight travel throughout the year.
- Some evening and weekend assignments are necessary.
Salary Range: $46,100 - 52,400. 40 hour work week. Exact compensation based on candidate skills and experience.
