Job Description:

Summary:

The Kogod School of Business Office of Graduate Admissions oversees the entire application process for the Full-Time MBA, along with five on-campus Master of Science programs and five online Master of Science Programs. Our Graduate Ambassadors are a key part of the admissions process, serving as the prospective students’ first key insight into student life here at Kogod. We are seeking a detail oriented, self-starter to support our team of Graduate Ambassadors, all the while serving as an ambassador for Kogod themselves. This role is an exciting opportunity for a current student not only interested in understanding of graduate admissions and student recruitment, but who is also looking to take a leadership role.

This position will report directly to an Assistant Director of Admissions, though the Lead Graduate Ambassador will provide support to all members of the Kogod Graduate Admissions team.

Essential Functions:

• Serve as the primary liaison between our prospective students and Graduate Ambassador team.
• Assist the full-time Admissions staff in overseeing a team of approximately 30 Graduate Ambassadors.
• Meet potential applicants face-to-face and provide information on the range of courses, the admissions processes, and offer campus tours.
• Coordinate campus visits and admissions conversations with various faculty and staff.
• Provide support for prospective student contact via email, phone, and front desk operations.
• Complete special projects as assigned, typically surrounding applicant outreach.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-time.
• 15 - 20 hours per week.

Salary Range:

• $18.50 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

• A currently enrolled graduate student at American University’s Kogod School of Business.
• A KSB Graduate Ambassador who has served in their ambassador role for at least one semester.
• Organized, proactive, and have a meticulous eye for detail.
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities at once.
• Committed to good customer service. Have you worked in retail, telemarketing, or at a coffee shop? If so, we want to hear from you!

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Federal work study students preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• This position will begin immediately in Spring 2026 and continue into the 2026 - 2027 academic year; the candidate should be available to work 15 - 20 hours/week.
• Scheduled work hours are flexible between Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• Candidate must be able and willing to work in an in-person environment depending on CDC/AU hybrid guidelines.
