Position Summary:
Slippery Rock University’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate program within the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic and self-driven full-time, temporary faculty member to join our OT program team. This position is expected to start in Fall 2026. The role involves contributing to the curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation for our program, which trains future occupational therapists as generalists with a focus on the OT process across the lifespan. As a key faculty member, you will be responsible for creating, delivering, and assessing course content aligned with program objectives, representing the OT program at professional events, recruiting applicants, advising students, and ensuring ACOTE accreditation standards are met. We are looking for a collaborative team player committed to advancing the SRU OT Program through an occupational justice framework and community engagement. The role may include clinical site visits, fostering strong relationships with local community members, and clinical facilities. Responsibilities may also involve classroom and laboratory instruction, as well as clinical site visits. Additionally, the position requires engagement in scholarly activities, university and program service, and involvement in professional organizations. Ongoing clinical practice or research is encouraged.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold a license to practice as an occupational therapist in the state of Pennsylvania. Must hold an earned doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency. Doctoral degrees are not limited to a doctorate in occupational therapy (ACOTE, A.2.5.). Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations. Successful performance in an on-campus interview, including teaching demonstration is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of three years of clinical practice as a licensed occupational therapist is required. Prior higher education experience in instructing graduate health students is preferred. Clinical experience and teaching experience in the following areas preferred: scholarship/research and assistive technology.
