Primary Purpose of the Position:
The primary purpose of the Graduate Recruiter position is to serve as the initial point of contact between Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) and prospective graduate students, as well as key stakeholders such as counselors, community colleges, and businesses. This role is integral to advancing WSSU's strategic initiatives to increase graduate enrollment by cultivating relationships with prospects, applicants, and admitted students through targeted recruitment activities.
The Graduate Recruiter will play a key role in developing and implementing recruitment strategies that align with institutional goals. By actively participating in graduate recruitment fairs, visiting businesses, attending community and university events, and responding to web inquiries, the recruiter will enhance WSSU's visibility and engagement with prospective students. The position requires a proactive approach to connecting with prospective students, providing support and guidance throughout the entire enrollment process, including answering incoming calls, making outbound calls, and ensuring timely follow-up.
In addition, the Graduate Recruiter will act as a liaison in planning and executing focused recruitment initiatives that aim to increase the diversity and quality of WSSU's graduate programs. By establishing strong connections with community colleges, businesses, and professional organizations, the recruiter will contribute to a dynamic and strategic recruitment effort designed to meet enrollment goals and support the long-term growth and success of WSSU's graduate programs.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:
- Knowledge of graduate programs and the higher education landscape is a plus.
- Experience in recruitment, admissions, higher education, or a related field is preferred.
