Grant Specialist II (Remote) - Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences

fellowship and training grant proposal preparation and submission, compiling and submitting the entire grant according to established agency/university guidelines. Gathers information for non-technical proposal components as needed. Serves as liaison between PIs, the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences (DBBS), and Department Administrators (DAs). Stays current on federal and university developments regarding research administration and complex regulations. Compiles and ensures accurate regulatory compliance of necessary data collected from various sources. Enters grant budgeting documents on line, as needed. Obtains PI and institutional signatures for proposal submissions. Award Management: Provides internal notice of award (NOA), including sponsor award documents, to Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA) and the PI, noting any special terms and conditions. Monitors and works with PI to submit annual agency reports (e.g., Research Performance Progress Reports/RPPRs). Coordinates post award with SPA to ensure accurate and timely budget set up. Responsible for grant closure and forms processing. Research Compliance: Coordinates the necessary support with internal and external requests for grant-related information (i.e. current biosketches, trainee information, and human/animal protocol approvals, other support). Research Reporting: Enters and maintains online database of grants submitted, awarded, rejected, etc. Post-Award Activities: Acts to resolve accounting issues and manage year-end process. Works with PIs to provide fund management and make any necessary budgetary changes. Approves purchasing documents and provides guidance on appropriate expenditures according to specific grant policies.
