JOB TITLE:
Grants Writer
JOB PURPOSE:
Support the development and submission of grants related to patient
care, health programs and other health-related opportunities for
the Educational Health Center of Wyoming (EHCW) and University of
Wyoming Graduate Medical Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write federal, foundation, corporate and other grant proposals,
including Letters of Intent (LOI), reports, budgets and funder
correspondence with limited supervision.
- Collaborate with leadership on short-term and long-term
development planing, including operating plans, budgets and revenue
projections to develop effective working relationships with Board
Members, volunteers, government and foundation representatives and
others to nurture their connection to the organization.
- Identify potential sources of funding and revenue including
federal, state, corporate and nonprofit
- Coordinate efforts of key staff members to ensure that
documents are completed by the specified deadlines for grant
proposals, monitor progress and ensure timely submissions
- Use various data sources to run reports and write summaries of
results for internal and external use ( grant reports, public
relations pieces, etc.)
- Stay up-to-date on healthcare issues and policies to
incorporate into grant-writing and public relations materials,
including preparing PR materials, fact sheets, newsletters, press
releases and media packets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: 5 years experience directly related to
the duties and responsibilities specified
Required licensure, certification, registration or other
requirements: None
Experience Evaluation
Minimum experience requirements are evaluated on a full-time
equivalent (FTE) basis. Relevant part-time experience will be
prorated based on hours worked. For example, two years working an
average of 20 hours per week is equivalent to approximately one
year of full-time experience.
Applicants must include the average hours worked per week for all
current and previous positions. Failure to provide this information
may affect the evaluation of qualifications.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with HRSA or other federal grants
- Exceptional attention to detail & accuracy, including
proofreading skills and superior written and verbal communication
skills
- Ability to efficiently prioritize duties and multitask in a
fast-paced environment
- Must show initiative, be self-motivated and have a strong work
ethic, with a strong sense of judgment, discretion,
confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, including the
ability to follow and provide detailed instructions.

WORK LOCATION:
On-campus: This position provides vital support to
the clinic team, and the successful candidate must be available to
work and perform essential job functions on site at the clinic,
understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
