JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, develops, coordinates and administers a statewide program of grant development and administration for a large state agency or department.
JOB DUTIES:
20% Data Management and Reporting: Maintains electronic filing system and university database to be used in providing statistical data on all university and college proposals and grants. Prepares and maintains reports for faculty and administration related to awards and current and pending research projects. Assigns grant submission to individual grants administrators and maintains the COESPRO submission calendar.
10% Training and Data Maintenance Develops coordinates and presents workshops pertaining to proposal processing including electronic submissions sponsor requirements research opportunities and University policies and procedures Manages the input and maintenance of external research information in the University database to ensure accurate data reporting Prepares special reports for College administration related to external research awards and submissions Other duties as required
30% Technical Assistance Provides technical assistance to faculty and administrators in the development and preparation of research proposals Ensures policies and requirements of sponsors are met while representing and protecting the interests of the College and University Advises with regard to compliance with institutional policies and requirements of sponsoring agencies particularly with regard to sensitive issues such as human subjects participation animal use bio safety hazards intellectual property and conflicts of interest
20% Proposal Administration Reviews complex issues such as patents publications conflicts of interest insurance requirements budgetary and costing problems or disputes associated with awards Submits contracts or grant agreements to Office of Sponsored Programs OSP for University signature and assists OSP with questions or revisions to award documents Monitors Federal compliance regulations seeks clarifications and coordinates procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
20% Budget Assistance: Provides assistance in the preparation and approval of risk accounts including preparing budgets and required approval forms. Checks for required documentation and required signatures, and forwards to GCA for final approval and setup.

Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration experience.
Preferred Requirements:
1+ years work experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB KNOWLEDGE Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES Fiscal Responsibilities: Fiscal responsibilities for the department's budget, including but not limited to, financial planning and managing fund allocation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Walk or move about: 5% Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period: 100% Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself: 5%

Standard Hours: 37.5
COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
Expected Salary Range $52,100.00 - $70,300.00 Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:
Essential Support - In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is necessary to maintain/resume essential support functions, deliver direct care services, and/or provide recovery support before normal operations resume. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
