Grants Administrator Post-Award
The Office of Sponsored Programs at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) is seeking a detail oriented Grant Administrator (Post-Award). The Grant Administrator is responsible for managing the financial and administrative aspects of awarded grants and sponsored projects. This on-site, in person role ensures compliance with institutional policies, sponsor regulations, and applicable laws while supporting principal investigators (PIs) in the effective execution of funded projects.
Position Responsibilities:
The Grants Administrator will have post-award grants management responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Ensuring that institutional as well as third-party policies, laws and regulations regarding sponsored research support are proactively addressed.
- Third party award set-ups, sub-award invoicing and monitoring, effort reporting compliance,
- Post-award analytics and other reporting needs, as well as supporting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP-Workday) and Huron HRS activities.
- Coordinating the preparation, compilation and submission of progress report documentation, which may include preparing budgets, other support documentation as well as research compliance related records.
- Maintaining and monitoring scientific reporting schedules and proactively engaging research investigators and their administrators in upcoming scientific reporting obligations.
- Interfacing with CSHL investigators and collaborating institutions to identify and support the needs of funding organization for prior approval requests that include carryover, re-budgeting and no-cost extensions.
- Training institutional staff in the use of electronic grant application and management systems, assisting with the preparation of research funding information for the CSHL Annual Report as well as other OSP related reporting functions
Education: Bachelor’s degree required with a major in accounting, business, finance, biology, computer science. Master’s Degree a plus.
Experience: Grant experience preferred, but not required. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites. Workday and/or Not-for-Profit experience a plus. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) analytics a plus.
