Responsibilities:

• Maintain campus lawns, trees and shrubs
• Help to plan and direct snow removal operations, remove snow and ice from stairs, walks and ramps
• Operate trucks, salt spreaders, tractors and snow blowers
• Prepare flower beds for growing annuals and bulbs
• Pick up and remove trash from campus grounds
• Lead and assist with all moves/work orders assigned in and outside of campus buildings
• Set-up multiple types of sports fields/complexes
• Perform routine maintenance on campus equipment to ensure proper working order and keep maintenance records
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

• High school graduate (diploma/GED) required
• Knowledge and ability to use hand tools/heavy Equipment
• Mechanical knowledge preferred

Physical Demands

• Ability to work out of doors in all types of weather
• Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of job

Human Relations Skills

• Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type.

Other Requirements

• Has valid motor vehicle license and be insurable under the University's insurance plan preferred
• Shift worked may be adjusted by your supervisor based on departmental needs
• Must be available for a mandatory On-Call operation for the winter season
• Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission.
