Coastal Carolina University is seeking a dedicated and experienced Grounds Superintendent to lead and elevate the beauty and sustainability of our campus environment. Required Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in grounds management and three (3) years’ of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications: An associate’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in grounds management and five (5) years’ of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must have knowledge of best grounds maintenance practices. Must be able to operate equipment used in providing grounds maintenance. Must have good communication skills. Must have strong computer skills. Must have strong customer service skills. Must possess a valid SC driver’s license.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provides leadership and guidance for all activities within Grounds.
- Liaises directly with leadership of the CCU Arboretum as it pertains to the operations and development of the arboretum.
- Performs supervisory duties for all direct reports.
- Interviews and selects staff for vacant departmental positions.
Building/Grounds Supervisor II (KA25/61121729/ FTE -S01065P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary Range: $39,764.00 (minimum) – $56,670.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
