Job Description:

• Participates in grounds maintenance activities including mowing, edging, string trimming, weeding, pruning and mulching with hand and/or power equipment.
• Installs and removes plant material, i.e. flowers, groundcovers, shrubs, trees, grasses as needed to amend campus landscaping.
• Participates in litter and debris collection programs including emptying trash receptacles and replacing plastic liners.
• Operates State Vehicle
• Participates in preventative maintenance program on departmental equipment.
• Performs other related work as assigned

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Position considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy

This position requires a criminal background check and post offer Health Assessment and Hearing Evaluation.

Employee must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License.

Expected Salary: $15.00 Hourly based on experience

Minimum Requirements: Completion of the 9th Grade Education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of grounds keeping techniques
• Skill in using lawn mowers, tree trimmers & cutters and other garden tools
• Ability to maintain lawns and grounds
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
• GI-BMP Certification
