Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Group Services Coordinator to join our team within Te Kupenga Hauora Māori (TKHM). This role provides essential administrative and executive support to academic leaders, assisting with the smooth operation of teaching, research, and engagement activities across the department.
In addition to core responsibilities such as diary management, meeting coordination, HR and recruitment processes, and financial administration, this position plays a key role in culturally aligned initiatives and major faculty events. You will support kaumātua engagement, lead or co-lead significant events, manage complex travel and logistics for MAPAS programmes, and oversee financial processes including P-Card reconciliation and purchase orders. This is a dynamic role requiring strong organisational skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
This is a fulltime, permanent position.
The salary range for this role is $62,400 - $77,800 depending on skills and experience.

You will be an experienced administrator who thrives in a fast-paced, culturally rich environment. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and build strong relationships will be key to your success. You will demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity, particularly in working with Māori stakeholders and supporting kaupapa Māori initiatives.
You will bring:
Essential
- Tertiary qualification or relevant experience.
- Experience in an administrative role with multiple stakeholders in a large and complex environment.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft suite of programmes.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience working in a tertiary environment.
- Experience with the University’s enterprise systems.
