"HE Lecturer - Interior Design & Styling"

Arts University Plymouth are seeking a dedicated and innovative Lecturer to teach on our BA Hons Interior Design & Styling course, joining a creative and dynamic academic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, planning, and delivery of a high-quality interior design course at undergraduate level. Please note that an MA qualification is an essential requirement for this role.

About You:

• You will have proven experience in Higher Education teaching, in Interior Design & Styling or a related field
• You will have strong knowledge and experience in using CAD software, including Sketchup, AutoCAD and the Adobe Creative suite. Experience in teaching these programmes would be advantageous
• You will hold in-depth understanding of the creative industries through direct industry experience, with the ability to apply theory to practice
• You’ll have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners
• You will hold a minimum of an MA level qualification in a relevant field

About The Role:

• Play an integral part in delivering undergraduate teaching including the planning, developing, and delivering of engaging learning content within the BA Hons Interior Design & Styling course
• Responsible for the assessment of student work, providing constructive feedback to students and supporting their academic and professional development
• Engaging in scholarly activity, research, and professional practice to keep your teaching current and relevant to the creative industries
• Take on unit leadership responsibilities, managing the administration and delivery of specific course units
• Participating in student recruitment and retention initiatives, such as open days, UCAS fairs, and outreach activities
