Provide development, leadership and supervision of a comprehensive and competitive NAIA baseball program.

This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA) and is responsible for reporting crimes and other incidents to the Clery Act Compliance Officer for inclusion in the Annual Campus Security Report in accordance with the Federal Clery Act and GGC policy.

  1. Lead all aspects of a nationally competitive NAIA baseball program while ensuring compliance with institutional, conference and association rules and regulations; Reinforce the GGC culture by demonstrating sportsmanship, integrity, a competitive spirit, and the importance of academics
  2. Coordinate and recruit prospective student-athletes through personal visits, telephone conversations, and email solicitations
  3. Plan, develop, and run organized practice sessions; Secure umpires for home games
  4. Monitor student athletes academic progress and implement strategies to ensure academic and athletic success; in conjunction with the compliance office, monitor eligibility of incoming and current student-athletes
  5. Work in conjunction with the Director of Athletics to develop game schedules, and plan major purchases
  6. Manage budget and secure travel arrangements including: meals, lodging, and transportation in accordance with allowances
  7. Responsible for the selection, purchase, and maintenance of all team equipment while adhering to athletic department and GGC identity standards
  8. Serve in conjunction with the Office of Sports Information and Director of Athletics as a spokesperson on GGC baseball related public discussion
  9. Fundraising in coordination with the Director of Athletics and Office of Development
  10. Other duties as assigned

Required Experience
4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
5+ years' relevant experience
1+ year leadership experience (people or program)

ABILITIES
General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics at NAIA or NCAA level
Experience with fundraising
Proven record of success both on and off the field
Excellent fiscal, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and manage assistant coaches and student staff members
Extensive knowledge and skills in budget development and management
Ability to work well with all employees in Athletic Department
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
Effective organizational and time management skills
Considerable knowledge of computers and various software packages used for word processing, graphs, table, etc. (Microsoft Office 2003, Excel, PowerPoint)
