Job Summary

The Head Coach Men's and Women's Tennis provides development, leadership and supervision of a comprehensive and competitive varsity tennis program.

This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA) and is responsible for reporting crimes and other incidents to the Clery Act Compliance Officer for inclusion in the Annual Campus Security Report in accordance with the Federal Clery Act and GGC policy.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the tennis programs ensuring the programs maintain compliance with institutional, conference and association rules and regulations
  • Coordinates and recruits prospective student-athletes through personal visits, telephone conversations, and mail solicitations
  • Plans, develops, and runs organized practice sessions; secures officials for home games
  • Monitors the eligibility of incoming and current student-athletes, in conjunction with the compliance office; monitors student athletes academic progress and implements strategies to ensure academic and athletic success; student athletes' retention and graduation rates GPA should be comparable to those of all GGC student
  • Collaborates with the Director of Athletics to develop game schedules, and plan major purchase
  • Manages the programs' budgets and secures travel arrangements including: meals, lodging, and transportation in accordance with allowances; oversees the selection, purchase and maintenance of team equipment while adhering to athletic department and GGC identity standards
  • Ensures the men's and women's tennis programs are an integral part of the Integrated Educational Experience where learning takes place continuously, in and beyond the traditional classroom; reinforces the GGC culture by demonstrating sportsmanship, integrity, a competitive spirit, and the importance of academic
  • Serves in conjunction with the Office of Public Affairs and Director of Athletics as a spokesperson on GGC men's and women's tennis; participates in fundraising, in coordination with the Director of Athletics, and Office of Development
  • Oversee daily facility operations, including courts and building maintenance, cleanliness, access control, opening and closing, and ensuring safety, security, and proper use in line with GGC Athletics standards and policies. Facility administrator and point of contact for all external tennis events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of coaching experience at the collegiate level
  • 1+ years supervisory experience (program or people

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with, and knowledge of intercollegiate athletics at NAIA or NCAA level
  • Experience with fundraising
  • Experience in leading successful athletic programs both on and off the field
  • Experience teaching in the classroom

Proposed Salary

63,500 - 79,500

Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
