Head Coach of Women's Distance and Track & Field Assistant Coach
Position Summary
Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the Men’s and Women’s Track & Field program, including but not limited to practice and competition management, student-athlete skill development, recruiting, planning and implementing daily training sessions and competitions, organizing and administering clinics, and handling administrative tasks essential to program operations. The role requires integrity, leadership, and a strong commitment to motivating, teaching, counseling, and recruiting academically qualified student-athletes.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required (or foreign degree equivalent) with at least 1 year of experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities; specific minimum experience is at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
2-5 years of successful intercollegiate experience, preferably at the Division I level, and knowledge of NCAA Rules & Regulations; USATF & IAAF Rules pertinent to hosting a compliant track meet preferred. Strong interpersonal communications skills; computer skills; demonstrated integrity, leadership, and a thorough knowledge of the sport are required. Ability to become CPR and first aid certified.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prefer at least 1 year in relevant independent or educational activities.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to lift/move 25 lbs or greater. May be required to navigate stairs. Must be able to manage a fast-paced, high volume work environment. Attention to detail essential. Must be able to work long hours, including nights and weekends as required. Travel required.
