Head Coach - Women's Golf
Job Summary:
The Rollins College Women's Golf team is seeking a Head Coach to join their team! The Women's Golf Head Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for all phases of coaching the women's golf program and carrying out all activities necessary to accomplish the objectives of this sport within the guidelines of the NCAA, Sunshine State Conference, and Rollins College.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach and track the skills of competitive golf from the fundamentals to the mental aspects necessary for success.
- Develop, implement, and execute a recruiting plan. Responsible for working with the Admissions Department in recruiting quality student-athletes who can contribute to a competitive varsity program. Recruiting will be in strict compliance with the rules and regulations of the NCAA and the SSC.
- Must enter prospective student-athletes into CA and Teamworks.
- Continue to improve knowledge of sport, rules, and regulations through conventions, clinics, seminars, and self-education.
- Administer the budgetary guidelines set forth by the Athletic Director (A.D.) and the Finance Department.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Communications liaison in making information available in a timely fashion and in promoting the women's golf program.
- Create schedule for intercollegiate competition and tournaments while minimizing missed class time.
- Responsible for scheduling and having women's golf student-athletes attend mandatory Title IX training annually.
- Organize all travel arrangements for tournaments.
- Organize training and preparation for coaching practices and tournaments.
- Promote the physical and mental well-being of all program participants.
- Maintain communication and cooperate with the sports medicine staff regarding prevention of injuries, rehabilitation and the players' health.
- Order, care for and inventory all equipment and apparel.
- Maintain the women's golf van.
- File eligibility and NCAA/Rollins and SSC forms in a timely fashion.
- Serve as a good role model for the student-athletes and as a representative of the college.
- Promote the women's golf program and its participants through the media, speaking engagements, high school coaches and programs like Alumni Weekend and an alumni competition.
- Work closely with Rollins alumni and fundraise as necessary.
- Serve in any capacity as called upon by the A.D. such as participating in department functions/meetings, game management, etc.
Minimum Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- Playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically.
- Possess a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- Three years of related coaching experience.
- Knowledge of launch monitor technology
