Description of Post

Head of Department is a key member of academic management, responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Department, its academic programmes and resources.

This Head of Department will lead and develop the Department of Engineering Apprenticeships.

The successful applicant will form part of the School Management team along with the Head of School. The HoD will possess the requisite managerial, leadership, and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

It is expected that the School Management Team will work closely in areas of overlap such as planning, timetabling, health and safety, promotion, and marketing.

Essential Qualifications

• An Honours Level 8 degree (2.2 or higher) in Engineering or related discipline [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years relevant post-qualification experience.
