Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the position:
Head of Department of Palliative and Supportive Care
The Department of Palliative and Supportive Care (Ú3P), Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, is an interdisciplinary academic theoretical institute focused on the development of supportive and palliative care in education and research, as well as on supporting its advancement in the clinical setting through close cooperation with partner clinical departments. The Institute participates in the preparation, accreditation, and coordination of undergraduate education (including mandatory curricula) and develops postgraduate education. The clinical component of teaching is provided and guaranteed in collaboration with contracted departments of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University. Ú3P purposefully strengthens interdisciplinary cooperation within the Faculty of Medicine and its partner institutions and manages the development of supportive and palliative care as a long-term program. Its priorities include the standardization and continuous improvement of the quality of Ú3P activities, the development and accreditation of educational programs, methodological support and coordination of cooperation with partner institutions, and the systematic evaluation of educational and developmental activities.
The candidate for the position must be a respected expert in simulation medicine with experience in managing a team and with experience in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
The Department head will be responsible for managing the Department, undergraduate medical education, doctoral studies, publishing and coordination of research conducted at the Department. The Candidate for Department Head will present his/her idea of fulfilling the above during the selection process.

Requirements for a declared position:
- University education in a field relevant to public health, or equivalent education obtained abroad;
- Academic degree PhD or scientific rank of CSC;
- Habilitation within the meaning of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education, the scientific-pedagogical title of professor is an advantage;
- Personal and professional requirements for managing the medical and academic team of the department;
- Teaching experience and readiness to guarantee vocational subjects taught at the workplace;
- Significant publication record and active research activity;
- Moral integrity and civil probity;
- Fulfilment of prerequisites according to Act No. 451/1991 Coll. (the Lustration Act); does not have to document persons born after 1 December 1971 and applicants from abroad.
