About the role
We are looking for a Research Assistant to undertake directed research activity as part of the Bournemouth Perception Lab under the direction of the Principal Investigators (Anna Metzger & Matteo Toscani). The project will address the links between manual and visual exploration of natural objects and scenes and their perception. The role of the Research Assistant is to contribute to its delivery by consolidating the work and records generated by the project and providing project management co-ordination and administrative support.
The successful candidate
- will assist with the delivery of the projects including preparation of experiments, data collection, analysis and writing up of the results
- has a background in Cognitive Neuroscience, experimental methods and statistical analyses, strong MATLAB/Python programming skills and prior experience with conducting psychophysical experiments.
This position is available part-time, 20 hours per week.
This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. Therefore, BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.
