Head of School, School of Community and Public Health
AUT is seeking a visionary leader for the Head of School role in the School of Community and Public Health. This 5-year fixed-term appointment is based at AUT's South Campus in Manukau. The role focuses on community engagement, strategic innovation, and academic excellence, fostering a distinct school identity and driving transformational goals.
As a socially driven university, AUT emphasizes equity and excellence. The school promotes health equity, Indigenous knowledge, and interdisciplinary innovation, with expertise in areas such as public health, Māori health, Pacific health, and more.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to faculty-wide strategic and financial planning.
- Creating a coherent school identity focused on community engagement and excellence.
- Integrating teaching with research and supporting staff development.
- Leading curriculum reform and growing postgraduate programs.
- Championing equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments.
The ideal candidate is an authentic leader with expertise in fields like Māori health, Pacific health, or public health, and experience in staff management and community partnerships. Salary ranges from NZD $162,608 to $209,052 for Professors, with an additional annual allowance.
