Offer Description

We are looking for a new colleague who is motivated by the challenge of building and leading their own research group. We offer a position at the Centre for Experimental, Formal and Theoretical Linguistics https://ung.si/en/research/center-for-experimental-formal-and-theoretical-linguistics/.

Main Responsibilities

The Head of the Center will be responsible for:

leading and coordinating the Center’s research activities;
planning, organizing and overseeing the Center’s work;
fostering the Center’s staff and programme development;
managing the Center’s operations and resources;
conducting independent scientific, research and development work;
performing other duties as provided by applicable legislation, the Statute and internal regulations of the University of Nova Gorica.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

a PhD in a field relevant to the Center’s research activities;
eligibility to serve as a principal investigator of research projects;
demonstrated organizational and leadership skills;
at least five years of relevant professional experience;
proficiency in both Slovenian and English at CEFR level C1.

a curriculum vitae;
supporting documents demonstrating that the applicant meets the required qualifications;
a list of scientific publications and other professional achievements;
a motivation letter including a brief vision for the future development of the Center within the international research environment;
contact details of referees who may be approached for recommendations.

Terms of Employment

The successful candidate will be employed on a full-time, fixed-term basis for four years, corresponding to the term of office, with the possibility of reappointment.

Candidates shortlisted for the position will be invited to submit a more comprehensive vision for the future development of the Center.
