Health Care Ancillaries/Licensed Midwifery Instructor, Part-time Adjunct
Basic Function
Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. The starting salary range is $67.00/lecture hour equivalent.
Representative Duties
The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of health care ancillaries/licensed midwifery topics related to supporting healthcare services and procedures. This position requires current knowledge, skills, and attitudes consistent with the legal and ethical practices of Midwifery. The Midwifery Instructor position may require evening and weekend hours as well as delivery of curriculum off site.
Minimum Qualifications
An associate's degree in related field AND a minimum of six years of professional experience as a Certified Professional Midwife, OR a bachelor's degree in related field AND a minimum of two years of professional experience as a Certified Professional Midwife AND a. Nationally certified midwife (CPM, CM, CNM) and/or legally recognized in a jurisdiction, province, and state; AND b. Have at least three years of work experience in clinical midwifery practice -OR- a minimum of 50 births as the primary or co-primary attendant.
Preferred Qualifications: Two years of teaching experience in a higher education environment OR - The equivalent.
