The Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader in healthcare simulation and interprofessional learning to drive the next phase of strategic development within the School of Health Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a substantial and growing simulation and IPL portfolio that supports undergraduate and postgraduate education across nursing, midwifery, allied health professions. Working collaboratively with academic, technical and professional services teams, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for simulation-based education and interprofessional learning across the School. You will oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative learning experiences that enhance student preparedness for practice, professional capability and patient-centred care. You will play a key role in shaping future curriculum developments, supporting staff capability, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and advancing simulation scholarship, research and knowledge exchange. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to influence the future direction of healthcare simulation and interprofessional learning during a period of significant institutional transformation, including the planned merger with the University of Kent.
The Person
- Registered healthcare professional with extensive experience in simulation-based education & interprofessional learning
- In-depth knowledge of integrating PSRB requirements into higher education programmes
- Excellent leadership, management, creativity and coordination skills
- Someone who can facilitate effective collaboration with internal & external stakeholders
- An ambitious, credible role model that can lead by example and develop capacity within the wider team
NB This role is offered at Academic Grade AC4, with the additional opportunity for appointment at Associate Professor level for appropriate candidates
