Job Description
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position. This open-rank, tenure-status appointment seeks a board-certified or board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon (MD or equivalent) with expertise in one or more of the following areas: limb deformity, spine, sports medicine, neuromuscular disease, fracture care, trauma, and upper extremity surgery. Academic rank, salary, and tenure status will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
- MD (or equivalent) degree
- Board-certified or board-eligible in orthopaedic surgery
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Alabama
- Completion of an accredited orthopaedic surgery fellowship
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and a commitment to excellence in patient care
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient interactions
- Dedication to the education and mentorship of resident physicians
