Job Overview

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Cincinnati (UC) is searching for an academic Hematopathologist/Surgical Pathologist to participate in hematopathology and surgical pathology subspecialty services that align with the candidate's interests. Autopsy, cytopathology, and molecular pathology service options are also available. In addition to clinical service and resident/fellow teaching, the position offers excellent opportunities for participation in collaborative research. Essential Functions

• Participation in hematopathology and surgical pathology case review and interpretation, with preparation of diagnostic pathology reports.
• Provision of consultations to other types of physicians regarding diagnoses and medical implications.
• Participation in on-call coverage.
• Participation in multidisciplinary conferences aligned with clinical service responsibilities.
• Teaches pathology residents, medical students, and fellows.
• Attends sectional/divisional/departmental meetings and educational events.
• Performs related duties based on departmental need.

Minimum Requirements

Must have all the following prior to effective date of appointment:

• Medical degree (MD or DO)
• Completion of a three-year residency/training in Anatomic Pathology or four-year Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Completion of one-year fellowship/training in Hematopathology (if hired as Hematopathologist).
• Active and unrestricted Ohio State Medical License.

Additional Qualifications Considered

• Board-certification or eligibility in Hematopathology, Anatomic Pathology, or Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology.
