Offer Description
Title of the project: "Hostile Environments - London Research". As part of the ERC-funded research project ‘Hostile Environments: The Political Ecology of Migration and Border Violence’, this research will focus on forms of everyday bordering - mundane practices of exclusion, that make it impossible to live a normal life for those racialised as migrants, regardless of their juridical status or whether or not they have recently crossed international borders - in London, UK. In particular the research seeks to expose how extractive data sharing practices and bureaucratic violence are mobilised against delivery drivers by the UK Home Office and corporations in the context of platform capitalism and the gig economy. The researcher will focus, in particular, on how immigration enforcement operates in this context in conjunction to..Omissis.
