"Hourly Lab Technician - Wang Labs (Chemistry)"

Two part-time Laboratory Technician positions are available in Dr. Xuewei Wang’s laboratory in the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). The successful candidates will support ongoing research in the areas of medical devices, microfluidics, and chemical sensors under the guidance of Dr. Wang and senior members of the research team. The technician will have the opportunity to contribute to and co-author peer-reviewed publications arising from their work.

We are especially interested in candidates with prior experience in at least one of the following technical areas: 3D printing, laser cutting, microfabrication, microfluidics, optics, electronics, sensors, and biomaterials.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, biology, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to collect, document, and organize experimental data reliably
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented research environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and fabricating devices using 3D printing, laser cutting, or cleanroom technologies
• Familiarity with writing code using MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar programs
