Hourly Pooled - Part Time Fleet Technician, Transportation Services
JOB TITLE: Part Time Fleet Technician
JOB PURPOSE: Conduct diagnostic tests on vehicles and replaced worn or damage components. Trouble shoot and repair a variety of engine systems to ensure that proper repairs may be made to the customer's satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform maintenance and repair on customer (UW) vehicles.
- Identify problems with vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
- Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service.
- Plan repair procedures using charts, manuals and experience.
- Test the functionality of parts and systems.
- Perform basic auto care and maintenance such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotations.
- Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors and other parts as needed.
- Perform alignments, tire repair and tire replacement as needed.
- Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
- Help keep repair shop cleaned and organized.
- Operation of vehicle lifts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Vocational School, On-the-Job Experience, or Associate's degree. Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.
