Maintain vehicle & equipment inventory, assign equipment
resources to employees.
Coordinate, enforce, and document all mandated federal/state
regulations, and department policies pertaining to the transit
system and safety.
Complete documentation of personnel performance, complete
compliance checks.
Provide training to new drivers/dispatchers, ensure that they
are prepared to perform job duties on their own.
Respond to and investigate vehicle related
accidents/incidents.
Respond to and investigate passenger related
complaints/incidents.
Provide excellent customer service
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with supervision of other areas of Demand Response, such
as Transit Dispatch & Paratransit operations.
- Perform backup dispatching and driving duties as needed.
- Maintain ridership and other transit related data as
needed.
- Assist with community outreach and resource fairs as
needed.
WORK LOCATION:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and
requires the successful candidate be available to work on
campus.
SCHEDULING:
Must be available to work combination of SafeRide shifts: Thursday
- Monday. Shifts would be consistently late afternoon & nights.
Early mornings are not part of this position. Application must

section.
SafeRide Operating Hours:
- Monday - Wednesday: 6:00pm - 12:30am
- Thursday & Friday: 6:00pm - 3:00am
- Saturday: 11:30am - 6:30pm; 9:30pm - 3:00am
- Sunday: 11:30am - 6:30pm
Must be available to work during the summer months.
Total hours could range from 15-19 hours a week. Students can get
extra hours as a driver/dispatcher.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must be able to pass all drug and/or alcohol
screenings required by the UW Drug and Alcohol Policy. This would

- Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that
is compliant with the University Vehicle Use
Policy.
- High School Graduate or GED and one year of work related
experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work
experience.
- Applicants must be 21 years of age, or will be within first
month of hire. (There may be times when alcohol may need to be
confiscated).
- Current certifications or ability to obtain within 1 month of
hire:
- TSI certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Supervisor Harassment training
- 1 year of customer service experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demand response transit experience preferred, but not
required.
- Completion of Transportation Services probation period
preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of ADA policies and procedures
- Problem solving skills
- Organizational and record keeping skills
- Ability to remain calm in difficult or stressful
situations
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience handling confidential information
- 1 year of previous supervisory experience preferred
