Housing and Residence Life Ambassador
Job Story
The Housing Ambassadors (HA) are some of the first faces many prospective students see when they visit our residence halls or meet us at events. As student representatives of Housing & Residence Life, ambassadors are responsible for conducting tours of residence halls, tabling at recruitment and student life events, and highlighting the student experience on the Housing & Residence Life social media platforms. During their time as Housing Ambassadors, students serve as an information source for all things Housing & Residence Life and share their passion for on-campus living and WSU with future residents and their families.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
- Lead tours of residence halls and dining facility on recruitment days.
- Assist with tabling at recruitment events.
- Present Housing information to audience at recruitment events.
- Maintain the appearance of showrooms in the residence halls.
- Utilize social media to engage with both current and prospective residents.
- Create student focused social media campaigns.
- Work as a team to create quality and engaging content.
- Willing to be featured in posts and reels.
- Attend bi-weekly meeting to plan social media strategies and plan for upcoming events.
- HA duties should be conducted between the hours of 7am-6pm, unless otherwise approved by supervisor.
- Weekly schedule to be created and determined by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Additional Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate WSU student (12 credit hours or more) and be in good conduct standing with the University.
- Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater at the time they apply for the position and at the end of the spring or fall semester prior to beginning the position
