The UVA Human Resources Talent Acquisition team is seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner to lead full-cycle recruitment for Allied Health positions supporting UVA Medical Center.
This position partners with clinical, operational, and departmental leaders to recruit talent across Allied Health disciplines, including Respiratory Therapy, Rehabilitation Services, Social Work, Medical Laboratories, Radiology, and related areas.
The ideal candidate brings strong recruiting and sourcing expertise, a solid understanding of the academic medical center environment, and experience supporting specialized clinical roles that are essential to delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining 24/7 operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment from intake and sourcing through selection and offer acceptance.
- Partner with leaders across Allied Health disciplines to understand workforce needs, clinical environments, staffing priorities, and position and licensure/certification requirements, while distinguishing required qualifications from preferred experience, trainable skills, and department-specific expectations.
- Develop sourcing strategies and candidate pipelines for difficult-to-fill positions using LinkedIn Recruiter, talent communities, professional associations, referrals, targeted campaigns, and discipline-specific networks.
- Evaluate applicants' experience, credentials, transferable skills, communication skills, and interest in the role and academic medical center environment, including alignment with applicable licensure and certification requirements.
- Use labor-market intelligence and recruiting data to advise hiring managers on talent availability, market conditions, compensation considerations, and recruitment strategies that improve search outcomes.
- Maintain accurate recruiting activity in Workday and other Talent Acquisition systems.
- Provide an efficient, equitable, and candidate-centered recruitment experience.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, UVA policies, pay-transparency requirements, and selection-documentation standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of full-cycle recruitment, sourcing, interviewing, selection, and offer management.
- Working knowledge of Allied Health roles and skill sets across Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Social Work, Laboratory Science, Radiology, and related clinical areas.
- Understanding of how Allied Health professionals support patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, clinical operations, and 24/7 Medical Center services.
- Ability to translate clinical requirements, licensure needs, and department priorities into clear recruitment strategies and engaging job advertisements.
- Ability to assess clinical and transferable experience without relying solely on job titles or exact keyword matches.
- Strong passive-candidate sourcing and pipeline-development skills.
- Strong consultation, relationship-management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to challenge unnecessarily restrictive requirements while maintaining credibility with clinical and operational leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple searches and balance quality, speed, equity, compliance, and candidate experience.
- Ability to use labor-market data to advise hiring managers and adjust recruitment strategies.
- Proficiency with Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, Phenom or comparable recruiting technologies.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma and two years of full-cycle professional recruiting experience.
- Experience recruiting Allied Health, healthcare, clinical, or other specialized professional positions.
- Experience in a complex health system or academic medical center environment supporting patient care, interdisciplinary clinical operations, and 24/7 service delivery.
- Ability to travel occasionally, as needed, to attend career fairs, recruitment events, and other talent outreach activities.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience recruiting Allied Health professionals; including respiratory therapists, rehabilitation professionals, social workers, medical laboratory professionals, radiologic technologists, imaging professionals, or related clinical talent, within a complex health system, hospital, or academic medical center.
