Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a HSE Partner to join Health, Safety and Environment, People Services, Administrative Division.
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Partner is responsible for supporting all operational HSE functions and programs for specific organisational areas within the QUT community, relating to the implementation of work health and safety and environment legislation, policy, systems and programs. The HSE Partner provides guidance, quality advice, and technical and project support on a range of HSE matters. This includes first aid, training, plant, electrical, and other risk management and compliance requirements. In addition the position provides operational support, coaching and guidance to allocated local areas.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree in HSE or related discipline, with subsequent experience in a health and safety or environment role within a large organisation.
- Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience in applying and implementing HSE practices, particularly in risk management, HSE management systems, and in the interpretation and application of relevant legislation, standards and guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in developing procedures and in conducting audits related to general HSE hazards.
- Demonstrated high level effective interpersonal, presentation and consultation skills along with an ability to manage complex, emotional, or controversial issues.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret data and produce clear reports with recommendations to senior staff.
- A record of working effectively in a team environment as well as engaging and collaborating with related service areas.
