The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for part-time instructors in human performance, coaching, fitness & wellness.
Responsibilities will include:
- Teach one or more course sections meeting 2-4 hours per week for a semester. The course textbook is selected in consultation with the full-time health sciences and human performance faculty.
- Assist students both in and out of the classroom.
- Create syllabi for students each semester using learning outcome guidelines provided by the department.
- Provide meeting time for students as needed.
- Administer and grade examinations and assignments.
- Manage online or paper grading system as needed.
- Adhere to all applicable department, college, and university policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of Master's degree in exercise science or a related field required; Doctorate preferred.
- Previous experience in coaching, exercise testing and prescription, or wellness program prescription preferred.
- Previous teaching experience in coaching, exercise testing and prescription or wellness program prescription preferred.
Applications for part-time positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis which may include fall, spring and summer.
