Job Summary

Basic Sciences is searching for a Human Resources Coordinator who will play a key role in supporting our employees and organizational success. In this position, you will assist with recruitment, employee records management, policy guidance, and human resources (HR) compliance initiatives while working closely with managers and employees to ensure a positive workplace experience and supporting day-to-day human resources operations. General Responsibilities

Coordinates, processes, verifies, and maintains academic and/or staff HR related work, which may include but not limited to: recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, tenure, performance evaluations, classifications, I-9s, and employee leaves of absences.
Researches and analyzes academic and/or staff HR related topics to help assist in resolving issues and/or creating solutions.
Creates, compiles, prepares, and analyzes reports and documents for academic and/or staff HR related activities.
Performs and may coordinate data entry for processing transactions and maintaining and keeping information current for candidates, employees and/or retirees on a variety of academic and/or staff HR issues.
Provides administrative and related support to other academic and/or staff HR staff.
Supports and maintains academic and/or staff HR programs and events; maintains up-to-date records of actions, decisions, and time frames.
Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and documents.

Qualifications

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

EDUCATION

Required

High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

3 years of HR related experience plus advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite products.

SKILLS

Required

Demonstrates customer service skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities.
Friendly and service-oriented.
Highly thorough and dependable.
Demonstrates written communication skills.
Experience utilizing Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize conflicting assignments and maintain focus on project completion.

Preferred

Highly organized and detail-oriented
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
