Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions received via email, phone call, instant messaging, or in-person
- Refers employment verification requests to payroll
- Processes unit eDocs according to university standards for students, staff, and hourly positions
- Initiates job postings, screen applicants, disposition applicants, and initiates offers in online applicant systems
- Verifies I-9 documentation
- Submits requests for employee background checks and applicable motor vehicle checks
- Supports interview scheduling and other meetings as needed
- May assist with preparing interview materials and coordinating candidate logistics
- Performs other departmental functions as needed to ensure coverage
General Responsibilities
- Coordinates, processes, verifies, and maintains academic and/or staff HR related documentation, which may include recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, performance evaluations, classifications, I-9s and employee leaves of absence
- Assists academic and/or staff HR team by researching information and answering academic and/or staff HR or policy related questions
- Creates, compiles, prepares reports and documents for academic and/or staff HR related activities
- May work closely with other academic and/or staff HR functional areas
- Performs data entry for processing transactions and maintaining and keeping employee information current
- Provides administrative support to other academic and/or staff HR staff
- Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and documents
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 2 years of administrative support preferably providing HR support using Microsoft 365

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$40,000.00 - 44,000.00 per year
