HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST II

FUNCTION: Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer under minimal supervision, the Human Resources Generalist II is responsible for comprehensive HR services with a strong emphasis on benefits, leave administration, compliance, and HR systems support. This position will also assist with other HR functions such as employee relations, training and development and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, exceptional customer service, and a working knowledge of HRIS platforms.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but are not limited to):

  • Manage the full hiring cycle, including composing job descriptions, posting job vacanies, recruitment, screening resumes, coordinating interviews and onboarding new hires.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day and annual administration of employee benefit programs including claims resolution, change reporting, and communication of benefits information to employees.
  • Assist to develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in employee relations matters and employee inquiries, addressing concerns and facilitating conflict resolution.
  • Monitor and manage the performance evaluation process, providing guidance to managers and employees on performnce-related matters.
  • Coordinate leave documentation, approvals, and communication with employees and supervisors while maintaining accurate leave records.
  • Process new hires, extra-earnings requests, overload assignments, benefit adjustments, and other payroll responsibilities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in other HR functional areas, including, recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and training initiatives.
  • Maintain records and reports to ensure HR compliance with employment laws and regulations, including EEO and FMLA requirements.
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvement efforts to enhance HR operations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Working knowledge of human resources practices and processes
  • Knowledge of worker's compensation, FMLA, FLSA, and ADA compliance requirements
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exhibit a high level of professionalism
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to respond quickly to changing job demands and prioritizing multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to problem solve and critically analyze complex issues
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, able to meet tight deadlines

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or similar field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant HR experience with demonstrated progressive HR experience with a background in employee relations, HR operations, and compliance.

Additional Information: Employment at Clinton College is contingent upon a background check that is satisfactory to the College. Failure to provide a written authorization for a background check will nullify the offer of employment.
