The Human Resources Department is seeking to appoint a Human Resources Officer – Service Centre & Communications Lead (HR Officer).

To support this, the HR function is undergoing transformation with a heightened focus on strategic HR, effective partnering, and customer‑service excellence.
The HR Officer will report to the Head of HR Partnering and be a member of the HR Partnering Pillar, providing support across all HR Pillars (Organisational Development, People Development, HR Partnering, HR Operations, and Employee Resourcing).
The HR Officer will support the HR Service Centre to deliver across five core areas:
- General service, support, and engagement with the MU staff community
- Digital Content
- Internal Communications
- External Communications
- Technology & Transformation
They will be responsible for maintaining and developing the supports and services offered through the HR Service Centre, including the staff intranet, the external HR website, employee engagement channels, and general staff support.
As the physical and virtual front door to Human Resources, the HR Service Centre provides in‑person and virtual support, enabling staff self‑service and acting as the first point of contact for the University community. The HR Officer will ensure the in‑person service is staffed appropriately and will manage blended working arrangements within the Service Centre team.
This role involves a broad remit with changing priorities in a busy environment. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience working in a busy team, strong organisational skills, flexibility, and experience managing projects and people. They will help ensure HR information is communicated clearly and accessibly to the MU community
Salary Scale:
Administrative Officer II (2026): €46,918 – €66,464 p.a. (9 points)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

23:30hrs (local Irish time) on Tuesday, 31st March 2026.
