The HVAC Technicians are responsible for monitoring, maintaining of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in the campus buildings. They are responsible to complete the daily work orders that are issued to facilities from staff, faculty, students and food service throughout the campus. Available for special events and after hours and for emergency/life safety situations.

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis. Must possess and keep a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years master mechanical in HVAC mechanical equipment and controls. Extensive training in HVAC mechanical equipment and controls through sponsored schools/workshops. Three (3) years certification/license. EPA approved freon recovery certification/license.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain heating and cooling systems through preventive maintenance.
- Performs repairs on all of the HVAC equipment.
- Maintain the controls for the HVAC units and buildings.
- Promotes and ensures best safety practices are utilized per required codes.
HVAC/ Energy Management Systems Technician I (KC23/61121960/FTE-S01177P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Grade: GEN07. Salary range: $39,300.00 (minimum) – $53,100.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
