Position Objectives:
The assistant professor will be responsible for teaching and research in neutron physics, using mathematical methods to understand neutron interactions and related phenomena in complex materials.
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Mathematical Analysis: Differential and integral calculus, differential equations, and Fourier series applied to neutron dynamics.
- Differential Geometry: Application of tensors and tensor calculus to neutron interactions and material properties.
- Topology: Study of topological spaces in statistical physics and phase theory.
- Group Theory: Use Lie groups to analyze symmetries and interactions in neutron systems.
- Probability and Statistics: Stochastic processes applied to neutron diffusion simulations in materials.
Research Responsibilities:
- Mathematical modeling of neutron interactions, studying neutron diffusion and capture reactions in materials.
- Develop numerical techniques to simulate neutron phenomena and transport properties in materials.
- Collaborate with experimental neutron diffusion laboratories to validate theoretical models.
Requirements:
- PhD in Theoretical Physics or a related field, specializing in neutron physics.
- Experience with advanced mathematical tools for modeling physical phenomena (complex, topology, functional analysis).
- Skills in numerical simulation for neutron process modeling.
