Impact Development Manager, Design HOPES (763003)
Managing, and developing pathways to impact for, a small portfolio of research which aims to improve sustainability within the Scottish healthcare system. Working with a small team of experts, you will identify and pursue optimal pathways into impact for these products, services, policies and practices.
FTE: 0.4 (14 hours)
Term: Fixed (Until 31.03.2028)
Following a successful first phase of Design HOPES, a major design-led research project, we have attracted additional funding to move from research into reality for our portfolio of place-based research, which comprises a range of community- and buildings- focussed interventions.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work closely with colleagues across the project ecosystem to develop pathways to impact for which include new products, services, policies and organisational practices.
You will have a consistently high level of personal responsibility and initiative, excellent and persuasive communications skills and be able to work comfortably with a wide range of colleagues from different backgrounds.
You will have previous experience in conducting research for impact, as well as engagement and knowledge exchange with a range of non-academic stakeholders.
A background in architecture, design or similar disciplines as well as co-design and facilitation would be beneficial, as would experience of the health sector and/or an understanding of the net zero policy landscape.
Design HOPES is a collaborative design-led research initiative, comprising five Scottish Universities (University of Strathclyde, University of Dundee, Heriot Watt University, Abertay University, and the University of Edinburgh), NHS Scotland, the third sector, and design organisations.
This project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) as part of the Future Observatory GTE Hub Programme at the Design Museum [grant number AH/Y00373X/1].
This role may be suitable for secondments.
