Ninety percent of the globe’s road traffic fatalities are located in Low- and Middle- Income Countries (LMICs) but the majority of research available to date addresses driver behaviour in high income countries. There is a lot of scope to test the extent to which existing models of driving behaviour translate to LMICs and examine factors that uniquely predict crashes in LMIC contexts.
