Remuneration: $135,483 to $153,562 pa (HEW8) (inclusive of $114,485 to $129,761 salary pa, 17% superannuation, and 17.5% recreation leave loading).

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Indigenous Australian Senior Student Success Educator to join Oodgeroo Unit, Indigenous Australians, Chancellery Division.
The Indigenous Australian Senior Student Success Educator, a member of the Oodgeroo Unit’s Leadership team, leads a high-achieving team in the delivery of targeted academic initiatives within the Oodgeroo Unit to deliver increased educational outcomes for students. The Indigenous Australian Senior Student Success Educator identifies challenges faced by Indigenous Australian students, particularly in their first year of study, and develops and implements effective learning strategies to ensure they progress through their degree programs and complete successfully. The position collaborates with the Student Success and Teaching Advancement (SSTA) Unit and speciality Faculty Student Success teams to identify at risk students, develop targeted programs and communities of practice to foster success for Indigenous Australian students and support QUT’s priority to recognise and foster Indigenous Australian excellence. The Indigenous Australian Senior Student Success Educator will demonstrate leadership and initiative and is responsible for oversight of academic services offered by the Oodgeroo Unit and ensures complimentary alignment with other services offered across the University. The position works closely with other team members, and across the University, to improve student success outcomes.

Our main administration office is located at Gardens Point campus, with facilities at our Kelvin Grove student centre. On both campuses we have computer labs, places to study and work with tutors, and places to meet with other students. All Oodgeroo Unit staff are required to work across both campuses. What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of postgraduate qualifications in a field related to student engagement, transition and success practice or equivalent professional qualification, with extensive management experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.?
- Demonstrated capacity to lead and supervise a team in a dynamic service environment, including responsibility for service delivery, workload management, performance expectations and staff development.
- Demonstrated ability to design and lead initiatives that address the unique challenges faced by Indigenous Australian students in higher education, informed by relevant legislation, policy and inclusive practice frameworks.
- Proven success working in partnership with Indigenous Australian peoples and communities to support their learning and cultural needs, with the ability to communicate complex and sensitive issues effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse student data and use learning technologies effectively, with sound knowledge of ethical and legal considerations related to student data use.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop and evaluate inclusive academic support strategies that enhance student success.
