Industrial Maintenance Technician
WCTC's Manufacturing Technologies Department is currently hiring for an Industrial Maintenance Technician. In this important role, you will support our manufacturing programs by repairing and maintaining lab equipment, purchasing materials and instructional supplies for students and faculty, and maintaining accurate financial and service records. You will also assist with researching equipment and instructional materials that enhance the learning environment for our students.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Research, order and coordinate instructional materials for all manufacturing programs (consumables and non-consumables).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions and breakdowns; maintain and repair equipment used by students and instructors in manufacturing labs. Schedule and coordinate outside contractors for repairs, upgrades and machine installations.
- Maintain instructional labs (cleanliness to ensure safety; availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) and instructional materials, etc.). Develop and implement safety procedures used in the manufacturing labs.
- Keep maintenance and warranty records of machines used in labs. Keep and update hazardous materials records. Maintain financial records for purchasing cards.
- Plan and coordinate capital projects involving equipment and infrastructure. Assist managers with capital purchases.
- Maintain current professional knowledge in the field through professional education and activities.
- Support College managers in quality and process improvement activities.
- Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.
Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge in industrial maintenance processes and systems.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral, written and listening for interaction with faculty, other staff and students.
- Ability to apply critical thinking, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to work processes and equipment issues.
- Ability to attend to detailed work, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to maintain operational status of a manufacturing facility including repair, purchasing, occupational safety and planning.
- Intermediate level computer software application skills in word processing and spreadsheets.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Two-year certificate or degree in industrial maintenance related field, OR Journeyman’s card in Maintenance Mechanic Millwright or Industrial Maintenance or Industrial Electrician.
- Five (5) years of experience in equipment repair and maintenance in an industrial setting.
- In lieu of the credential listed above, seven (7) years of combined relevant coursework and experience in equipment repair and maintenance in an industrial, manufacturing, facilities, or technical environment will be considered
